Liberal Democrat councillors have been investigating a rumour that county council home care workers have been told to make their own arrangements for a flu vaccine.
Staff such as home care workers or staff in day centres who are in direct contact with vulnerable service users have previously been offered a Flu vaccine by the county council.
It is recommended that you have a flu jab if you are a frontline health or social care worker.
Liberal Democrat Leader Councillor Jeremy Hilton said: "It is important that as an employer we protect our staff from catching the Flu, to ensure that the Flu is not passed on to the service user and that we have enough staff on duty to maintain the care packages to many vulnerable people.
"On hearing that staff had been told to make their own arrangements I asked some questions and have been told there is a budget to cover flu vaccines for frontline staff and that the council is in discussion with the NHS the best way to provide vaccinations.
"I now hope that all frontline staff will get their flu jab before the winter sets in."
