Gates Locked - Lansdown Road
Travellers who moved on to a school playing field off Lansdown Road, Kingsholm a week ago and set up camp, have gone.
The last of the travellers moved off site on Saturday afternoon and the school has padlocked the gates.
Local Liberal Democrat councillors Jeremy Hilton and Sebastian Field are pleased that the travellers moved two days before the Gloucester County Court eviction hearing, which was due to be heard on Monday 9th of August.
Jeremy Hilton said: "It is good that the travellers have now moved off the playing field, which is for the use of pupils at the High School for Girls and the Spartans Rugby Club for their home matches. The school has incurred costs, whilst a group of travellers have camped without permission for free. I would like to thank local residents for their good natured patience as the legal process to evict the travellers proceeded."
